Myin Mahti

Myin Mahti is a big village made up of smaller villages here and there in mountains only about 8 miles far from Kalaw, the nearest town in Sounthern Shan State. About 3000 Danu tribal people live there.

Due to the warm hospitality of the villagers OAT travelers enjoy taking the trip to that village where they put in the locals’ shoes. Along with GCF’s support to the post-primary school in the village, we noticed the drinking water there had very bad quality according to WHO standard. The water comes from the mountains through the streams and it is collected by pipes and stored in the communal tank in the monastery. It contains much iron and calcium which may cause throat and kidney problems in a long term.

As a solution, GCF supported the water purification machine with three outlets where the villagers come and fetch the purified drinking water. One outlet is installed in the school so the students are safe with good drinking water. The villagers are happy and they thank our generous travelers so much for their save to be healthier
